About Us

The Push is an Australian youth music organisation and registered charity based in Melbourne. At the forefront of emerging trends, The Push delivers a range of programs that are responsive to Australia’s future music industry leaders, artists and audiences.

For over three decades, our organisation has engaged more than 700,000 young people. Our program alumni include Courtney Barnett, Alex Lahey, Alice Ivy and Angie McMahon — who have each progressed onto successful, global careers.

We are uniquely positioned as the connection between the music industry of today and the music creators, professionals and audiences of tomorrow.

The Push is a not-for-profit organisation and donations of $2 and over are fully tax deductible.

13,000+ young people had the opportunity to attend a safe and accessible all-ages event
2,429 young people developed their skills and networks through our education and training programs
We engaged 155 industry practitioners for paid employment through our programs and events

Our Board

The Push is a not-for-profit organisation that was set up in 1988 as an Incorporated Association. Governed by a Board of Management, Board Members are experienced contemporary music industry practitioners and broader sector representatives who are committed to The Push’s purpose as a Victorian youth music organisation.

The Push’s Board oversees the organisation’s strategic direction and management, including finances and legal obligations. The Board ensures that The Push achieves its aims and objectives, employing staff to undertake the day-to-day operations of the organisation.
